Minnie, Goldie, Fishy

We did it. The unimaginable. Took Brynlee's bottle away from her. She cried. We told her we were giving them to a baby who needed them, and she was a big girl now and needed to eat and drink like a big girl. She cried again.

Then Daddy came up with a Brilliant idea. He remembered how much she loved the fishies at the aquarium. "Brynlee", he said, "Do you want a fishy? If you are a very nice girl and give your bottles away to the baby who needs them and stop using them, we can go pick go pick out a fishy."

She sighed, she sobbed, she SMILED! "Me mee give bottle to baby and go get fishy?" And she was happy. SO we went to the pet store and she picked out this Betta fish:

And we put her in a nice new on clearance bowl (those are the best,we were on a budget)

So far she's in love. She sits and stares at her (we are only guessing its a her), and makes austin and I sit and stare at it, and even lined up her stuffed animals and made them sit and stare at it. As for her name...Well, it was minnie, and Then it was Goldie, and it keeps going back and forth. Every time we ask her the fishies name she changes it.

As for how the no bottle thing is going? When she asks for it, we ask her what happened and she tells us "Memee nice and give to baby, and memee got fishy!" But last night, was pretty awful. She didn't cry or scream or throw any of the big fits we were expecting, but it took 2 hours to get her to sleep. And she was up multiple times. Basically she needs to relearn how to go to sleep without a bottle. I even offered her sippy cups to drink, but that only accomplished her yelling at me "NO DRINK! MEMEE GO NITE NITE!"

The only big problem we are having is she refuses to drink ANYTHING! No milk, no juice, she might take a couple sips of water every 5 hours.Austin told her if she would drink some juice today, and eat like a good girl, he'd bring her home a frog to put in with the fishy (only if he can find one at the zamzows next to his work, but we didn't tell her that part." So maybe tonight Minnie (or goldie) will have a friend.
